In Rakhine State, Rohingya Muslims held the Lailatul Qadr prayer on the night of March 15. The event continued into early March 16. Local sources confirmed this.
Lailatul Qadr is a key event in Islam. It takes place during Ramadan. Many believe it falls on the 26th night. Muslims pray and seek blessings on this night. After Ramadan, they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine hold this event every year. This year, the ceremony took place in Mrauk-U. ULA/AA officials joined the event. They prayed with local people.
In the past, ULA/AA also joined some religious activities. During Qurbani, they allowed animal donations. They also reopened a mosque in Maungdaw. The mosque had stayed closed for many years. Some Rohingya welcomed these steps.
However, concerns remain. Some Rohingya say they cannot use their identity freely. Others say the system is similar to past military rule. Reports also mention pressure and abuse on the ground.
Human rights groups raised concerns. They say these actions may improve public image. But real problems still exist. Daily life remains difficult for many.
Some people welcomed ULA/AA’s role in the event. Others disagreed. They said symbolic actions are not enough. They called for real rights and long-term solutions.
